Have you ever had any of these questions?
What do officers do all day besides writing tickets? Why do officers make the decisions they make? What kinds of resources does Fairfax County offer our police officers? How safe am I? How can I contribute to public awareness and police community relations? How can my community benefit from knowing the answers to these questions?
If so, the Fairfax County Citizens Police Academy is for you! |

| The Citizens Police Academy is a 35-hour program designed to provide members of the public a unique “glimpse behind the badge.” Attendees will be afforded the opportunity to learn about departmental resources, programs, and, most importantly, the men and women who comprise an organization nationally recognized as a leader in the law enforcement community. Students will learn more about the breadth of resources involved in preventing and solving crime and the daily challenges faced by police officers. Courses will be held on nine Thursday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., with the exception of the final class. This final class will be on a Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Class locations will rotate to various police facilities throughout the county. |
