The mission of the Fairfax County Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association is to promote and enhance the relationship between the community and the Fairfax County Police Department. The association will accomplish this through continued law enforcement education of our members, supporting and promoting the Fairfax County Citizens Police Academy, supporting and promoting special projects that strengthen the services provided by the Fairfax County Police Department, and assisting the Fairfax County Police Department in specific projects when requested.

2009 Goals

*Deploy the FCPD Canteen at all DWI checkpoints in 2009 and work towards gaining the commitment and logistics needed to deploy to critical and prolonged incidents.


*Continue to show our support for FCPD officers through food donations, notes, and other activities. We anticipate five station meals in 2009 to be held at four district stations and one specialty unit. The remaining four district stations will be targeted in 2010.


*Increase diversification in the CPA and association membership through recruiting and community CPA’s.


*Send representative(s) to 2009 National Citizens Police Academy Conference if funding allows.

 

 

2009 Fundraising Activities


*Design and sell FCPD merchandise

*Continue the My Coke Rewards initiative to redeem points for refreshments

*Raise funds to outfit the canteen truck (and eventually obtain a new vehicle)

*S
olicit canteen donations from local businesses

*
Continue to sell CPA and FCCPAAA shirts

*Collect cell phones to be redeemed for cash

*Teach one CPR course
