The Virginia Crime Prevention Association, Inc. (VCPA) is a 501C-3 non-profit organization that was established in 1978. The mission of the VCPA is to develop and implement programs that prevent crime by focusing on reducing opportunities for crime. The VCPA partners with law enforcement, community groups, citizen volunteers, schools, businesses, and other organizations to deliver programs and services.

Over the past two years, the VCPA provided assistance to 500 communities, delivered 71 training programs and major presentations and provided 1,140 hours of training for 3,340 individuals. The VCPA estimates that these free services save local and state law enforcement agencies over $300,000 in annual crime prevention training costs.

The 30th Anniversary VCPA Conference on the Prevention of Crime will be held in Fairfax County at the Marriott Hotel at the Fair Oaks Mall, March 16-19, 2008.
